Why did you start writing? From what I can tell you put a lot of passion into the works you make, where did it all start for the lovely stories you make now?

Wayyyy earlier when I was 9-10ish, and even at that age I was writing a lot, with just pencil and notebook paper. I know I have written earlier than that, but I have no evidence of it.

I filled up an entire 3inch binder with an entirely hand written story about a girl who lives who her grandma and has a dog named Trout, almost dies in tornado at school and finds out the tornado as a sentient being that was trying to kill her because she has some connection to a random dude that can control the weather, and a elegant queen lady who controls ice that basically adopts her and turns her into a scout to find other people who have elemental powers. She doesn't have any herself, but for some reason she can tell who does, and then can steal it. I still have that binder in my closet. Would not recommend reading it though lmao

I started publishing my writing online, fanfiction specifically, when I was 11ish and totally not supposed to be online yet. My first fanfic I wrote and published was for Soul Eater, and that account and those stories are still up to this day. (cringe warning for the exact kind of thing you would expect an 10-11 year old to write) I actually had two fanfic.net accounts, this one where I wrote L4D stuff too.

I switched from fanfic.net to Wattpad after I got into FNAF and wrote a bunch of Fnaf stuff from an AU I had in 2015, and that AU is what led me to making a tumblr account that year, mainly to post my art for my stories. (I had always been drawing, too, but I didn't start posting that until wattpad)

And then I switched to AO3 around 2018 and my stories have been there since. I have, quite literally, been writing for nearly 15 years, with pretty much all of my work well-documented online since I started.

I hate my older works from when I was a teen/kid, and even work from just a few years back, and even removed them at some point, but decided to keep them up for archival purposes. Especially since you can kinda see how my writing style has changed, my standards in writing like the wordcount going from 80k at 11yrs old to 200k something for my long fics, my viewpoints and beliefs, etc etc. I am also very...picky about the stories I read, so if I cannot find what I want, I will make it myself.

Writing is absolutely the best and most practiced coping mechanism I've had since forever. I will write even if I do not have any readers. I still write things that I do not post online, so overtime what was something I deeply enjoyed as a hobby and an outlet to process difficult and low parts of my life becoming something enjoyable to other people is kind of wild to me, still.

And I'll continue to do it even if one day this account explodes or something. When I said 'Writing and creating art is the only thing keeping me sane' I was not trying to be quirky /lighthearted. I'll dedicate entire days to writing chapters in a row.

But yeah I've been writing for a long while, I'm glad you guys really like it! Look at my cats

Ongoing Series - Thai

Jack & Joker (Thai Mon IQIYI) ep 4 of 12 - I love Joke so much! And I love War in this role so much. It’s great. This is a great show it’s such fun. The comedy is somewhat leaving me flat. But that’s normal for me in this kind of Thai BL. I also like Hope. I shouldn’t, but I do. I love the little girl character as well, and I do believe that Joke has found his scion in her.

(As per usual the grandma of this BL speaks for all of us.)

Kidnap (Fri YT) ep 5 of 12 - Coils be coiling. Mummy dearest is v hot. I do like the twist on the henchmen. It would’ve been really gut-wrenching if Q had put the rope around his own wrist the night that he slept by himself (or tried to). And they have now made "the promise that is destined to be broken" waves at trope. Meanwhile, great flirting. Next week being episode six we should be getting our kiss.

(Was GMMTV gently poking at Jack & Joker with that play-within-a-play reference to Jack as Min's stunt part?)

Fourever You (Thai Thurs YT) ep 1 of 16 - Sampler pack university BL from Wabi Sabi that's trying to be a gay Boys Over Flowers (4 older med student hot boys + frosh) and it’s exactly what I want right now. Is it good? No, not really. Do I care? Not at all. It is, in fact, boys over flowers... only boys no flowers. I really couldn’t want anything more than that. What can I say? I’m easy. I love a pining seme. I guess what I am saying is, I am trash for trash. Inject this shit directly into my eyeballs.

Love Sick 2024 (Thai Sun iQIYI) ep 3 of 15 - At least in this version they talk bit more with each other about what’s going on. (Then again in the original we didn't need it, the acting was so good.) Still it’s a lot more modern to see representation of communication, but but the previous version felt more honest to teen behavior. This open communication entirely changes the push pull dynamic of Phun & Noh's whole relationship. I actually LIKE that change because it makes it very different from the original. I’ve been hoping that this one would veer in a different direction. I'm enjoying that they've made it Phun with the long term crush, and that he’s sort of testing himself with heterosexuality. It is selfish, but it is also a very rich kid thing to do. I love the shouted confessions and the decision to not date. This is a really good twist on the original. I’m liking this a hell of a lot more now that it’s substantially changed in direction, if not in tone.

Monster Next Door (Thai Thurs Gaga ) ep 11 of 12 - It’s very sweet and wholesome. And everyone kisses pretty. And I do like the communication and green flag aspects of this show. But I'm also finding it a touch dull. 

Battle of the Writers (Sun YT) ep 9 of 12 - I don’t know. The pretending to be blind thing is weird. This whole show is weird. I’m kinda weirded out by it. I like the two side couples well enough, but we get barely any time with them at all.

I Saw You in My Dream (Weds Gaga) ep 12 fin - I like that they did come around to the dreaming thing as a major plot point in the end. Even though it felt like they forgot about it in the middle. And I liked that it was an inherited family trait. I didn’t expect that (should have, but I didn't). And I thought it suited this kind of drama, even if it was a little pat. The whole family helping at the very end was very sweet and a nice full circle for the narrative. (Like the Ae's family sort of adopting the next-door kids originally. 

Summation

A cute friends to lovers romance, that’s a little bit like the stepbrothers trope since these two grow up next-door to each other and in and out of each other’s lives. The paranormal element is about prophetic dreams, and it is threaded through the narrative even if it gets somewhat lost in the muddy middle. All in all, a sweet fun little series with decent chemistry. 8/10

Addicted Heroin (Thai Tues WeTV) ep 8 of 10 - I've totally forgotten what’s going on. There was another kidnapping. Maybe they’re actually dating now? I don’t know. Honestly, it won’t really matter cause everything will change by the end of this episode... again. That said, I did love the parental confrontation sequence. It’s not as good as in the original because it’s a lot more direct and modernized, but it was pleasingly aggressive. Which I weirdly appreciated for the military angle. The cross-dressing thing was odd. The dolls advertising thing is even odder. Jealous baby on sports day was good though.

Bad Guy My Boss (Thai Sun Gaga) ep 3 of 10 - Why did I feel like I’ve seen this entire episode already. It’s just different characters saying the same thing to the main characters or flirting the same way or whatever. 

Live in Love (Sun Gaga) ep 5 fin - I did not like this ep at all. Fully half of it was evil backstabbing and some bullying and some sort of trying to engender sympathy for a friendship betrayal. And I was not on board. (Wouldn’t mind seen Hali and that cute kid in something together tho.) 

Conclusion

Basically this was a story about online relationships and how they interface with the real world, and in personal friendships, plus bullying of all types and some backstabbing and shipping. The acting was weak, the sound was terrible, and generally it was an old style pulp offering. It tried to deal with some interesting issues, but was awfully clumsy about it. 5/10 

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Sugar Dog Life (Japan Sun grey) ep 9 fin - Such a great confession, so truthful and earnest and honest. And he’s also like that with his friends. And such a nice answer. I love that during the cool off they both realize how very much they both act like are boyfriends to each other all the time. Ooo running of the gays! And we even got a cute little smile kiss!!!! and an adorable boyfriend montage at the end. How unexpectedly satisfying of you, Japan!

Summation 

This is a phenomenally charming and adorable little romance about a forlorn university kid and the police officer who adopts him. They are relentlessly kind to each other, in fact it’s an extremely kindly show over all (everyone in it is so nice to everyone else including us) so there’s very little tension. But what it lacks in drive and complexity it makes up for in earnest acts of service and simple affection. These two are basically boyfriends from the get-go, it’s just one of them acts like it and doesn’t realize it and the other one realizes it and has to figure out how to make it a reality. It’s incredibly sweet and incredibly wholesome, nourishing but delicious. Everybody who can should watch this show. It will make you feel better about life. 

Easy 9/10 on this one from me.

Teenager Judge (Vietnam Sat YT) ep 2 of ? - We have some semblance of a plot! Yay! Our BV tsundere character is secretly an online judge who whistleblows and exposes corruption in the school system. How very Pump Up the Volume. I am not mad about it. Also 2 of the prettiest seme bullies EVER. The epic pout-off with these bad boys. Be still my heart.

Our Golden Times (Hong Knong ??? YT) 1-4 of ? - Billed as a BL from Hong Kong I’m not sure we can trust this one to a get finished or be cohesive or have an HEA. But the optics are good. Everybody’s very pretty. It’s chaotic and clumsy and a little odd. But most of the stuff on my dash is these days, so what the hell? And ya know what, I kinda like it.

Love is Like a Poison AKA Doku Koi: Doku mo Sugireba Koi to Naru (Japan Tues Netflix?) 4 of 10 eps - It remains entertaining but off kilter in that way that indicates 50% chance of ultimate dissatisfaction in the JBL pantheon. 

First Note Of Love (Taiwan Mon Gaga) ep 9 of 12 - I wish we knew a little bit more about Sea's background/family. Neil should just tell him what the hell is going on. Why wouldn’t he? Instead they artificially wedged the main couple apart for most of this episode and Orca wasn’t there at all? = Not a good episode IMHO.

It's airing but...

My Damn Business (Korea Sat ????) 7 eps - supposedly airing on Saturdays starting 10/5 have no roleand I found the trailer but nothing else.

The Hidden Moon (Sat WeTV) ep 1 of 10 - This is a supernatural romance (my ghost boyfriend trope) by Violet Rain (I Feel You Linger). A man is hired to write an article about an old mansion in Chiang Mai being converted into a café. He sees the ghosts of people who died at the mansion, falls in love with one of them. Was substantially recast. I loved IFYLITA except the ending so I think I'll let this one run it's course you can tell me if it's work tracking down... if they managed to land it. I have my doubts.

10/10 Eccentric Romance (Korea Thurs Viki & Gaga) 12 eps - Silkwood’s 2nd Thai/Korean colab, that has been in production since 2022 which is a LONG time in the BL world. I'm worried but I like the concept: friends of 10 years who’ve been hiding feelings for each other enter the same university. Plus MURDER.

10/10 Gangster and His Boyfriend (Korea Thurs ????) 8 eps? - Kim Dong Bin (famous trainee & idol reality competitor, yeah that happens) stars as a fallen idol who unexpectedly becomes entangled in a gangster family. Discovers that his friend’s father is responsible for the murder of his entire family years ago. I don't know much about this one, neither does anyone else and I'm not sure where I got that release date so……

10/21 Love in the Big City (Korea ????) 8 eps - Okay both a movie (already out) and a series. Neither one is likely BL and I can't imagine it will end happily. I'm giving both a pass but here's your synopsis.

Cynical fun loving student Young pinballs from home, to class, to on night stands. He and Jaehee, his female besie and roommate, frequent nearby bars where they push away their worries about life, love, and money with soju and hookups.

10/23 See Your Love (Taiwan Gaga Viki) 10 eps? - Zi Xiong, a third-generation heir, attempting to flee from taking over their family business, meets and falls in love with Shao Peng, who works as a hearing-impaired nurse. From the same production house as Kiseki Dear To Me in partnership with Shinehouse Theatre, funded by Taiwan’s BIGART + Japan's Rakuten (Viki). Show includes Lin Chia Yo (Be Loved in House: I Do). Director Chiang Ping Chen’s childhood experiences with his deaf uncle have inspired the drama.

My Dad can beat up your dad

Imagine if Ellie joined the Teen Titans (Cartoon Version)

When Trigon attacks, everybody is freaking out because how are they going to stop him? Raven is a kid, there are no other magic users around, and the Justice League is off world (idk what the canon reason is)

But Ellie is strangely calm

She mentions that her dad may be able to help, or at least be able to hold him back long enough for them to get help

Robin: How is your Dad going to stop THAT!

Ellie: Well, you know how I'm half ghost?

BB: Yeah?

Ellie: Ans you know how that one time the ghost we fought called me "Princess"?

Cyborg: yeah...

Ellie: Well the thing is, they weren't lying. My dad is the King of a Dimension called the Infinite Realms, and while he is young for a King he is still powerful.

So she calls in her dad, who is sporting the classic Ghost King Redesign, and he goes to hold Trigon back as the team comes up with a plan.

I don't like the "Insanely OP Danny" stuff too much, so for this let's just say that Danny can grow in size to be comparable to Trigon, and they have a Giant Kaiju battle in the middle of Jump City. He doesn't win, but he manages to hold on long enough for Raven to finish the Job

Also i really want Danny to start doting on Ellie, like really excited that he gets to meet his daughters friends and all that. He even pulls out some embarrassing Baby Photos from that time Ellie was reverted to her actual age.

Once he hears about Raven being Trigons daughter, he adopts her on the spot.

Raven suddenly has a new Dad, Sister, Brother (reformed dan), Aunt, Grandma and Grandpa (good parents jack and maddie) and maybe a new mom (Sam? Val? 3rd person?)

Basically I just wanted a "Kaiju Danny vs Kaiju Trigon" fight

"My dad has the hots for your dad!"

Amity can only stare as Hunter slams his hands down on the table she is working at. He glares at her with narrow eyes and a mouth pressed firmly into a thin line. The perfect picture of determination and confidence. 

"What. Did you just say?" 

He immediately deflates at her pointed and icy tone. His hands leave her table and fidget with his overalls and hair instead while he squirms from side to side, eyes averted and cheeks blushing. 

"I-uhm. I read that in one of Mama Camila's books. It- well, I mean, it means-" 

Amity cuts him off. "I know what it means. Didn't Camila forbid you from reading them?" 

Them being the small paperbacks with the half naked humans on the front. Usually a woman in distress with a very well built male, rescuing her from certain doom with wet hair and big abs. The first time Camila had caught Hunter reading one of them she'd almost burst a blood vessel and ripped it right out of his hands. 

"Nonononono," she had chanted and hugged a perplexed Hunter to her chest, carding a hand through his hair. "Those books are way too spicy for an innocent, cute boy like you!" 

Hunter huffs and puffs. "I'm an adult. She can't tell me what to read." At Amity's raised eyebrow he mutters "And she didn't find the one hidden under my mattress." 

He shakes his head and takes her shoulders to shake her a little. She allows it, 'cause she can see how agitated he is. "But that's not the point! Darius has… he likes your dad. As in like-like! And we gotta figure out how we feel about that." 

Amity thinks about Darius. The dashing rebel, who had been pulling the strings of an uprising in the shadows from the start. A headstrong abomination user. He would definitely be a big step up from Odalia, that's for sure. 

She imagines Darius as her father's new partner and discovers that she is more than okay with that. 

Amity is not naive. She knows her father needs a headstrong partner at his side, someone who is not afraid to take the reins in a relationship. Not like Odalia, who's taken that to mean that she should micromanage every facet of his life and turn him into someone he is not, but someone who reminds her father to eat and to leave work alone every once in a while. 

"I approve." Amity says and seeing Hunter's desolate expression narrows her eyes. "You got a problem with my dad?" 

"What?" Hunter lets her shoulders go as if they have burned him. "No, of course not! He's super cool! I just… Arrrrrg!" He rapidly runs his hands through his hair. "I just don't know if I can handle a second parental figure!"

"Uhhh."

He starts walking up and down in front of her, Waffles flying after him with happy little trills. "Things with Darius are good right now. He told me to call him Dad and it's… It's yeah, you know? But it's also a bit awkward sometimes, you know? The only father figure I ever had before… Well. And we are still trying to find our rhythm, you know? How am I supposed to deal with another parent right now?"

"Hunter!" Amity has to shout to get him to stop. She can't believe she is having this conversation right now. "Hunter. You do know that you have like, four parental adults in your life. Don't you?" 

He blinks at her and his blank face tells her everything she needs to know. She wants to face-palm so bad right now. "What?" 

Amity starts counting on her hand. "You call Camila Mama Camila." 

"Wha- But that's just-", he splutters. Amity talks right over him. 

"Eda calls you her Fledgling at least once a week and she and Raine are kinda a packaged deal. Grandma and Grandpa Clawthorne call you son so often, I don't even know if they know your real name. Every time Lilith fusses over your scars she mutters 'my poor boy' under her breath. And let's not forget Willow's parents who took one look at you and had the adoption papers ready." Amity looks at her hands, which have barely been enough to count on. "Oh look at that. Not four but eight, actually."

Hunter looks gobsmacked and not a little teary eyed. Amity pats his shoulders, just a little relieved that he has apparently forgotten about their parents budding romance over this new revelation. She'd rather not get involved in that for as long as possible. 

"Face it, Hunter. You are pretty much public son number one at this point."

Unpopular opinions on Caleb:

Okay, I'm going to be honest here:I don't see Caleb as a love interest. I see him as our adoptive older brother. In some voiceovers, he's referred as such. Just a disclaimer here:If you like him romantically, I'm not judging you. I'm just expressing my opinion to whoever might share it, but if you don't, I respect it.

Some might argue that "older person of family" are words that korean/japanese/chinese people just use to show respect, and I know this. Like korean has "oppa" and I don't know the chinese/japanese counterpart. And that I understand. However, they were RAISED TOGETHER. By the SAME PERSON. In the same HOUSEHOLD. Same ENVIRONMENT. Even if they are not biologically related, they were raised like it. That's why the childhood friends to lovers works for Zayne. He was raised by a different family.

Some people might argue that it was like a "living in the same orphanage type of thing", which would make sense if they lived in an actual orphanage, who has a completely different structure. You see way more than just two kids in one, and you don't see them calling the person who takes care of them "grandma". They both considered and called Josephine "grandma" even knowing they were not related by blood to her. Implying they both consider themselves her grandchildren. Even if it's just a form of respect in Asia calling her grandma, they still acted like siblings being raised by their grandmother. I'm sorry but Josephine clearly adopted them. If it was an orphanage kind of scenario, they would look forward to being adopted by a family one day, and they both seemed very in home with Josephine. And even if they weren't adopted, if it was an orphanage, as they are both adults, they would both have to leave, because you have to once you're 18. But they kept coming back and staying there, both of them in their 20s. Don't be fooled by some movies or series, usually the kids in orphanages don't develop the kind of bond Caleb and MC had with Josephine. If there wasn't a bond, they wouldn't call her "grandma", they would use "Mrs./Miss Josephine" or just "Josephine".

We don't have many details about their adoption. I've always imagined it was legal, Josephine had the documents signed and such because I imagine she just can't get two kids and get them home. Even if she was involved in shady stuff in the past, considering Zayne's family knew about her and Caleb, and they were close, it doesn't seem like Josephine was trying to hide them. What might kinda justify to me Caleb being a li is maybe she didn't have their permanent guard and now that they are both legal adults they don't need to see each other as brother and sister anymore according to the law and all documentation and traces of their childhood were erased in the explosion. But so far in the story, MC and Caleb acted like siblings, spoke to each other like siblings, teased each other like siblings, they had all the siblings' mannerisms. Their dynamic was way too sibling like, way too many brother and sister coded, that he just popped into my like the banter, the nicknames, etc. I immediately knew he was our older brother as soon as he opened his mouth. The game didn't have to mention it. It was just that obvious, I just assumed based on what they showed. The narrative and plotline just make it so clear. I was even "props to them for making adoptive siblings actually act like normal siblings"( I guess I said it too soon). So far, he was written like an adoptive older brother, and IT WORKED. He was an amazing brother, lol. I think they will probably pull off:The old Caleb, who was her brother, died. This new one changed his personality completely with everything that happened, and now he makes moves on MC. And MC will have to understand that "the sweet boy from her childhood" is gone and see him differently. But like...It's still the same person. Even if with a new personality. I know I'm not the only one who thinks that. They never showed romantic feelings for one another so far. So when I saw this trailer, I was like, "Where does that come from?". Making this transition just seems weird. Imagine them being married and telling people how they met: "We were raised by our grandma in the same house." I'm sorry, but to me, it is just awkward, even though it's legal in theory.

Even if the adoption is undone, they can't change the past. Grandma Josephine dying doesn't change the fact that they were raised, even if not as siblings, as members of the same family. The fact that is by adoption and not by blood, doesn't make it any less real. Adoptive siblings are not less siblings than biological ones. I just hate those kinds of situation, that sadly seem to be increasing their popularity nowadays(The Tearsmith, Culpa Mia/Tuya, etc) that two people become siblings by the circunstances and then fall in love and we are supposed to believe it's forbidden love but like... If you are justifying it with "they are not related by blood", then it's not actually forbidden. "Oh but they have to hide it for their family not to find out" they hide it for a short while, the family finds out, opposes to it for like five seconds and then they end up together somehow in the end. In that case, Josephine died before she could find out, but you got it. And those people are usually the same people that go like:"blood doesn't matter, family is who loves and cares about you and raised you to be the person you are" when it's about couples from the lgbtqiapn+ community or even straight couples when one of them is infertile and adopt children. So what's their point? Do they believe on adoption or not? Those people only believe adoption when it's convenient to them. How is this any different? Those people are basically saying:"Your adoptive siblings are not your real siblings, because adoption means nothing and they are not a part of your real family, so even if you were raised together for years, it's not incest if you hook up with them."

I don't remember what was said about Josephine not wanting kids, or not being good with kids, but she seemingly raised Caleb and MC very well, so that probably changed as she grew older.

Back to Caleb, even as a character...The only unique feature he has is his mechanic arm, that I found really interesting, not just because for inclusivity/diversity/representation but also because it passes a cyborg vibe that just makes sense for a futuristic story, like Alita Battle Angel, for example, that I love. But that's on his physical appearence. Aside from that, in other physical features, and specially in personality, he just seems like a combination of all the other love interests. He kinda looks like Zayne and has the "same" trope as him, he's got a Sylus type of dark romance and kinda villain vibe and the same height as him(I know Caleb was a character before Sylus but he only became a li now, which makes it sound intentional, they could have made Sylus a little bit taller to avoid that, like 192cm or something), Rafayel's more "manipulative" side and eyes that look like his, and Xavier's freakiness and the fact that he also wears an uniform and also flies high, Xavier with spaceships and him with airplanes. I've also seen complaints about his voice, that I didn't like either, but I imagine it will get better with time.

The parallels between him and Zayne were pretty obvious, like a few also were with Sylus and Xavier. The thing is... So like, adding similarities to Zayne is understandable, because of this, but as I said, Caleb has a little bit of all the LIs. Which just make it seem like the devs made him to be a cheap copy made with the crumbs of the other LIs with no individuality at all. Which as it was proved with Sylus and Xavier, it could have been avoided, as both have white hair and both come from the same planet, and that's pretty much all they have in common. They should have added on Caleb similarities only to Zayne, because adding to the others to makes it seem like they were desperate to make everyone like him for them to forget that the questionable things I listed that make him a brother, but to me, personally, it had the opposite effect. It just made me like the others even more. And just makes Caleb seem kinda forgettable, since he has no features only he has, that make him stand out from the rest. His personality will probably be more revealed with time, but still, that's not a great start.

The conclusion with this is that I won't stop playing the game or hate on it, I'll just ignore the Caleb romantic content as much as possible and just keep seeing him as a character who is important aa he is MC's adoptive older brother who just came back from the dead somehow, which is what the people who are unsatisfied, like me, should be doing, because hating on it won't change anything. You can share your opinions, like I'm doing, but please do it respectfully. For all the reasons I've mentioned, I don't dislike Caleb, I just feel indifferent to him as a love interest, I still acknowledge him as a well written brother and a good character overall. But if you dislike him, and any other love interest at all, for that matter, there's no point in hating on it, just pretend he's not there. There are other four love interests, I'm sure one of them has catch your eye so just focus on them(this part is a message specifically for some people I've saw attacking the Caleb girlies). Let's just respect each others views.

I want to see more of Wukong interacting with the general public of heaven and surprising them more and more with how wrong they were in their assumptions of his character. Like I can imagine the plumhill boys and/or peach madens wanting to hang out with him again and setting up a picnic in one of the public gardens just to run into some nasty noble or smth. I like to think that besides the Havoc itself, the peach madens were actually pretty cool with their little monkey boy, bonus points if they called him baby brother or considered him One Of The Girls(tm) since if I remember correctly the jade emperor had no sons therefore the peach madens had no brothers but then one day this funky, clever little monkey dude was given the same job as them with a fancy title and they're like "Aw this ones ours now🍑❤️🧡💛💚💙💜" wukong is just so "Please like and adopt me, idk what I'm doing" coded even if he is competent and self sustaining, he's just so cute, look at his little face!

Nezha brought Wukong to a café in the Celestial Realm one gentle morning. Sun Wukong had been slowly getting more used to using mobility devices in public. They were chatting while Wukong sat in the rollator anxious about his surroundings. He hadn't made many public appearances at this point and was concerned with how the other celestials who noticed him felt about his presence, especially in his current condition.

An elderly woman entered the café with who appeared to be a descendant of hers and just... stared at Wukong. Deer in the headlights kind of look. The young man only took a quick glance before turning to his elder.

"Grandmother, there's no line."

"Whatever is Nezha doing with that thing?"

"Grandmother, he's a monkey, not a thing. And I'm certain the Marshall has a good reason for the company."

"Hmm.... I'll go ask him."

"WAIT, GRANDMA NO!!!"

Wukong ducked his head and awaited the inevitable. Nezha noticed and scooted into a more protective position next to him.

'Grandma' bombarded Nezha with a million different questions about Wukong. Nezha answered her patiently, not wanting any trouble. Her grandson looked embarrassed.

Luckily, the grandmother seemed content with Nezha's answers and walked away when finished. The grandson apologized profusely for his grandmother's behavior.

Twentyish minutes later, the grandmother returned and placed a cookie in front of Wukong and pinched his cheek.

"Now, you keep being a good boy and get well soon. Alright, dear?"

"Yes, ma'am. I will."

Nezha had dropped Wukong off at the Demon Bull Family's place while he went to another boring meeting. As usual, he eavesdroped on the other celestials while he waited for things to get started.

The rumors were different than normal.

"Did you hear that The Monkey King is sick? The poor thing!"

"Wukong's living with Nezha now? How sick is that guy? Do you think he'll be okay?"

"You should have seen him in the market the other day, all cozy with his blanket holding onto Nezha! Oh, he's the cutest!"

i miss the days when there were competent and interesting characters in warriors books aside from the 1-3 protagonists. when side characters actually had stuff going on that even affected the plot and protagonists. our main characters had friends, enemies, rivals, crushes and relationships that weren't the sole focus of their arc, meaningful relationships with their mentors, parents and siblings, etc etc. think of sorreltail, berrynose, poppyfrost, heathertail, breezepelt, ashfur, tigerheart, hawkfrost, literally any first arc cat that lives past book 1

to be fair they usually had the bare minimum of interaction to count for anything more than acquaintances but at least it was something. i couldn't tell you who frostdawn or nightheart's friends are if my life depended on it

nightheart doesn't have a single friend other than his immediate family i'm pretty sure. his mom, his sister, his adoptive mom, his adoptive mother, his grandma and grandpa... who else does he talk to more than once? mandatory protagonist bonding with sunbeam and frostdawn doesn't count. he almost had something going on with his mentor slash grandma lilyheart but it was forgotten pretty quick. i can only think of wafflepaw. wafflepaw is nightheart's best friend

frostdawn talked to her siblings like twice and had a decently interesting relationship with mothwing. her mom, by far her most compelling connection, died immediately. she had some fun scenes with whistlebreeze and mandatory nightheart time but other than that...? harelight? i liked harelight. splashtail was her friend i guess but like. you know. she also gets randomly attached to icewing after she has a prophetic dream about her but don't let the erins fool you into thinking they had any sort of relationship before that! they did not. frostdawn's best friend is harelight who is dead so i guess it's mothwing or whistlebreeze! work friends woooo

sunbeam had lightleap and blazefire for at least a book or two which is a modern era warriors friendship RECORD. two cats completely unrelated to her! normal clanmates she got to hang out with regularly and not only in life or death situations!! one was even a romantic interest that wasn't her sole motivation and contribution to the plot!!! not to mention the interesting and consistent dynamics with her entire family and then her thunderclan in-laws, which i personally don't count as family relations in warriors. so that's more friends! sunbeam's best friend can be anyone she wants she's killing it. i vote finchlight

conclusion? sunbeam is the only modern warrior cat to have friends. congrats!

Howdy everybody. I'm fresh from a research trip to the state capital, Jackson, home of the Mississippi Vital Records office and the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, which I now have a very fancy membership card to.

Before getting into my family history, I'm gonna rehash some stuff for the new readers. I adopted the name Panther from my uncle/father, legendary blues-punk guitarist Scott Panther. My biological father is the screenwriter and infamous madman, Rogan Russell Marshall. Rogan's grandfather had a Choctaw nation birth certificate, although his mom (my Jewish grandma) once confessed to my mom that he was actually the son of her Athabaskan friend and not her husband. She met her husband in San Francisco, and both were living on the Athabaskan reservation in Alaska when my dad was born - his birth certificate says Anchorage, but he was actually born in Tok. Rogan and I met when I ran away from home as a teenager, and to put it mildly he wasn't a good father. After one time he kicked my ass for no reason, I destroyed the paternity test proving we're related in a fit of pique, plus any old childhood photos, letters from my mom or mentioning my mom, etc (lol). I could probably call some office and get a new copy of the paternity test, which could allow me to prove I'm Choctaw if I wanted to.

For those who are uneducated, a genetic test doesn't show what nation you're from, it will just say "native american" or some such, and I don't care to have my my primary cultural heritage reduced to a tiny little number. I feel like the Europeans in my family have done nothing but take advantage of all my other relatives, not to mention I've never even known any of them, so it's hard to find pride in that, even if it's the only side of my family that cultural pride is socially acceptable for.

Since my mom's family completely raised me, I tend to think of myself as being Muskogee. Passed down from my mom's side are a lot of verbal and cultural traditions. My great grandmother understood Muskogee, she passed on a few names for plants and foods to my grandma. Several folk stories and family recipes I found corroborated by other Muskogee people online, and there are a lot of small things like how my family would make spoons, birdhouses, and other crafts from sculpted dried squash, general philosophic ideas, the fact that we never went to church and were raised to respect women, etc. My mom told me all about the game stickball when I was young, and knew many details of how it was played and its place in Muskogee society, information passed down from her grandma, despite the fact that my relatives are totally disinterested in other sports of any kind. I also have a very thick and distinctive accent, and was questioned on my nationality by other native people I met several times as a child, before I ever brought it up to my family. In high school I had a Cherokee art teacher named Dr. Craig Kirk, he was the first to ask if I had ever been to New Mexico. The second was a Dine lady named Summer Bear, a regular at a bar I worked at in Tampa, Florida, in 2019. Both conversations went basically like this:

Them: Where are you from?

Me: Mississippi.

Them: Your accent reminds me of people I've met in New Mexico.

Me: That's weird, I've never been to New Mexico.

Them: Well you should probably ask your family about it.

A lot of Muskogees and other southeast natives went to New Mexico as refugees, so there are quite a few people with my accent living there. In Albuquerque I felt right at home, it's a breathtakingly beautiful city, surrounded by incredible wildlife parks, well worth visiting.

Being native was never discussed openly when I was young, I honestly figured as a kid that everyone knew all about native crafts and folklore. As an adult I've obviously found this is not the case. My mom is honestly a bit racist against black people, and she would ensure I attended majority white schools when she could. When white kids at school would make fun of the way I look and talk, I just figured I was ugly and stupid. I never made enough close European friends to know that my experiences were unusual. My few friends in childhood were black, mestizo, Jewish, or Asian, I only had one friend whose family were recent immigrant Scottish pagans. For the most part I was badly abused and always acting out, so I was extremely isolated and couldn't keep anyone around long. When I moved to Europe at 15 I felt so out of place that within 6 months I almost killed myself, ran away from home, and ended up back in the States because of it. Last year I visited Okmulgee, the capital of the modern day Muskogee nation in Oklahoma, and spent a few days hanging out at the local bar and talking to people in the linguistic preservation office and at the university. Just at face value, no one questioned my heritage or doubted me for even a second. Actually one guy asked me about my other native heritage, because I seemed too native to have only one great-great grandparent.

So this brings me to my research today. My grandma's and mom's verbal lore is that my great great grandma was definitely over 100 when she died based on historical events she remembered, but never had an official birth certificate (Mississippi only began to print them in 1917 I think.) My grandma told me her actual Muskogee name only once, and I immediately forgot it because as I said, I am very stupid. In searching for records I discovered that she has an official European name and lineage, Emma Susie Schultz, gravestone marked 1910-1998. There is a recorded birthdate for her in 1910, which would obviously make her only 88, despite the fact that in the photo I've seen from when she died, she looked way older, impossibly old. If she's German, how the hell did she know how to speak Muskogee? There's just way too much evidence that she was native for me not to believe it. In one hand-drawn portrait from when she was young, which my grandma had framed on the wall, she had straight dark hair in Princess Leia type buns, a traditional Muskogee hairstyle, and simply didn't look like any Aryan I've met, and that's aside from all my other experiences. My best guess is that she was adopted and the family hid all evidence, I genuinely can't think of anything else. It wouldn't be too surprising as one of my great great aunts was also black, obviously of African descent, but when my mom asked my great aunt about it, she said "What are you talking about? That's your great aunt Naomi, she wasn't black." This while literally looking at a photo of a woman being black. Mississippi and Alabama (where my family lived also) were segregated until the 1960s, so there was quite a lot of social pressure to declare yourself to be white. It wasn't just separate bathrooms and drinking fountains, for a long time non-whites couldn't own property. So for the time and place my relatives must have been extraordinarily accepting and open-minded.

Since our boy Caleb is coming in early/mid Jan (half confirmed half not, tbh idk anymore) I will be dropping my theory regarding his 💥 scene and he how he is still alive and if grandma is still alive too.

Theory 1

HE PLOTTED THE EXPLOSION

What actually happened?

Caleb planned that bombing and informed grandma from the start which is why he follows MC when she went out, so technically at that time, Grandma exited the house and the explosion happened. He used his evol (telekenisis) to save himself. Probably make barrier with some of the stuff at home. Or they have secret bunkers under the house.

Why did he do that?

Caleb faked their death (him & grandma's) because Ever is hunting them down. They probably want MC to be safe at the same time erase their trace (perhaps to avoid MC from hanging around with them, which will increase the probability for MC to get more entangled with Ever). Also, that bombing matched the current news of how some of the recent fire/bombing case that broke out in some area near their neighbourhood (Grandma's house) for 'no reason'. (I think I remember the news says it was from some common reasons like wire spark but we know it's not it)

Why Ever want them de@d?

Remember that, most of the victims that died in the news were related to Ever in their past. Grandma used to work with a research center (Gaia Research Center) that Ever invested in. This RC does experiments on evolver like MC and Caleb. That's also how she adopted both of them when they were kids after some things happened to the RC. Most of the researchers went to work with Ever but some that realised what they did was wrong, stopped pursuing the research which is why later, Ever starts hunting them down because they know too much.

Theory 2

EVER CAUSED THE EXPLOSION

What actually happened?

Ever caused that bombing and Caleb used his evol to save himself but unfortunately he wasn't able to save Grandma. Probably used his evol to save himself like make an invisible shield using particles around him or use some of the houses furniture to lessen the damage on himself. I came up with this because we never know how well he can control his evol but since he was an Airforce cadets, he probably controls it well. So he used that explosion as an opportunity to fake his death and hide his presence from the rest of the world including MC.

Why he hid for a long time?

Caleb disappearance will make Ever believes that they have eliminated both, Grandma and Caleb, so they won't be pursuing them anymore and MC will be safer. Also, I heard some players speculate that he went to N109 Zone where Sylus resides and hides there since it's hard for normal people especially non hunters to reach that place without the right cabel and ability to protect oneself. In his hiding, I think he frequent in and out to stalk MC too. He probably knows more about Ever than MC through Grandma since he seems to remember about their childhood more than MC. He probably starts investigating deeper into Ever or he already have leads and just continuing from there.

Theory 3

HE WORKS UNDER EVER

What actually happened?

This one is a bit wild but also many players already speculated this. He was told to eliminate Grandma which is why he made the explosion triggers at the same time he enters the house. This will makes Ever people thinks he is to naive to kill Grandma and decides to follow Grandma to heavens PFTTTT. But then let's just say Grandma is a wise granny and has a bunker under her house so that's where she stays most of the time if MC and Caleb is not around and she told Caleb about it one day, where Caleb decides to use the opportunity to fake their death. But poor MC got depressed thinking they're actually gone but it's a great plan since MC's emotion is so raw and real that everyone believes their death, including Ever.

Why I think he works with Ever?

Probably because Grandma is still alive despites being one of the main researcher that does experiments on those evolvers... Idk it's just a thought aka possibility. He might be in an undercover mission too. I don't really have explanations for this theory because I don't really have much interest in what he possibly own that will make him an important l.i like the others. Sylus having a crucial role for being Onychinus leader and a prominent figure in N109 Zone. Rafayel being the one to have most cable from both the dark market and normal market because of his popularity as an artist (I forgot what it's called so bear with me). Zayne being the renowned cardiology doctor that research about protocore syndrome for the sake of MC. Lastly, Xavier being the legendary Lumiere.

Like where is Caleb in all of that, right? Will he be portrayed as someone like Zayne where he's just a normal citizen that but gets entangled in things for MC sake? Or will be portrayed as someone like Sylus where he's is related to shady stuff in the background and a prominent figure somewhere but actually he's just making sure MC is safe?

AITA for lashing out at my mom?

This is something that happened a while ago (like a couple years) and im moreso just curious what people think.

A little backstory before we get started, I was in high-school during this time and was severely mentally unstable. So unstable that prior to this I had JUST gotten out of the Psyche ward. My mom is notorious for being abusive and neglective, and anyone who knows me well will recognize my mom instantly from this. I also have DID, which can make remembering to do tasks pretty hard. With that out of the way:

I, (17nb), was driving home with my mom (40f) and two sisters (15f) and (16f) from my adoptive dad's house. He isn't important to the story, moreso that we were in the car during this time. I was on my phone which at the time I was punished from but was allowed to have to look at my grades. Because of my frequent hospitalizations (the most recent one had been my 8th) I wasn't doing very well in school on top of my already struggling mental health. (When something reminds me too much of high-school these days I actually pass out.)

I had been working really hard to bring up my grades! They went from straight Fs to Cs in a couple of weeks, and it was very close to the end of the year. I had pulled off what you could honestly call a miracle because if anyone knows the American school system, they know it's INCREDIBLY difficult to raise your grades at the end of the year. I was very excited because of this. I showed my mom the grades because I was so excited, and instead of validating me, she responded "that's great now do better"

I remember it felt like my world went silent, and I remember shouting "why can't you just be proud of me?!" I don't remember a lot of the conversation, but at some point she hit me. She'd hit me a lot in the past, and at this point I was really at my limit and I hit back. This is where I might be tah, because I escalated the fight by hitting back while we were in a moving vehicle, but I did demand she pull over the car shortly after. As soon as she did, I got out the car and ran as far as I could with the thought of going back to my dad's in my mind. However somehow she convinced me to come back and I got in the car. She yelled and berated me a bunch, before calling my grandmother and planning to drop me off with her. She then went back to where we were staying (where her current husband lives) and said husband almost attacked me. Eventually they got my things (some of which he destroyed) and then dropped me at my grandma's house and left me.

At this current point in time, she actually ended up giving up custody of me, and i live with my grandparents nowadays. I'm content here, though I wish I could change some things. Overall, I'm really just curious since my mom paints me as the badguy. Was I the asshole???

Thinking a bit about baseball and how it runs in my family so thoroughly on both sides.

My dad's father was such a good amateur third baseman that he was scouted by the Yankees. We have a letter from the team inviting him to tryouts. But he'd just started a family at the time and the Minor League life is rough, and it was rougher still in the 1950s, so he remained an amateur player who nevertheless had a deep love of the game. He apparently met and played with Willie Mays during the Korean War when he was stationed stateside. He got Mays to etch his name on the strap of his helmet. We still have that, too.

On my mom's side things were entertaining. My mom's grandfather was a New York (later SF) Giants fan. He and his wife had three children, who they raised in the Bronx. The oldest, my grandmother, was a Giants fan like him. The middle child, my great-aunt, decided she had to be different and adopted the Brooklyn Dodgers. The youngest child, my great-uncle, furthered that and became a Yankees fan.

Allegedly, according to my great-aunt, my great-grandfather predicted the Giants, then behind, would win the National League pennant in 1951. She was incredulous because at the time the Dodgers were well in first place. Until they weren't.

This family arrangement continued for a few more years until the Dodgers and Giants left for California in the late 1950s, and the National League members of the family drifted until 1962, when the Mets started playing. My grandmother and great-aunt both picked them up immediately and it's been that way on my mom's side ever since - the people descended from my grandmother and great-aunt are Mets fans, and the people descended from my great-uncle are Yankees fans.

Grandma Dot was a deeply passionate Mets fan and passed that trait to her daughter, who at one point had a huge baseball card collection and knew the Mets's stats better than all the boys in her school. My mom experienced her first World Series win at the age of 10 in 1969 and from there she would be loyal forever. She and my dad were married a few days after the Mets's second World Series win in 1986 and my younger brother and I would be raised on stories of that team during our early years.

Although I get baseball from both sides of my family, the intense passion for National League baseball in New York has been passed down matrilineally, from my grandmother to my mother to me, and I cherish that deeply. I'm the culmination of three generations of baseball-loving women and I think that's actually really cool.

I'm mostly writing this because I don't quite want to let this Mets team go yet. They were so much fun this year and I already miss them so much, and they took us so much farther than anyone expected. 2024 wasn't our year, but it was one hell of a year and I love this cast of characters a lot.

This World Series would have divided my grandmother's family in the 1950s. Not so much today, since the Mets aren't there, but the Dodgers and Yankees haven't played in the WS against each other since 1981, and before their move to LA the Dodgers and Yankees met a few times in the 1950s. I wonder what my grandmother's siblings talked about, or if they trash talked each other, or if they gathered around the radio together for the play by play.

I just love how much this sport is literally in my blood.
